Project: NIDA wacky banquet
Materials: EVA foam, water clear resin, acrylic paint
I started by carving EVA foam into a waffle shaped grid, removing every second square to make it more bizarre and alien-like
I then sanded down the foam to make its texture more consistent before covering the entire thing with foam clay so I could sculpt the waffle texture
Then, I painted it with several layers of brown and beige acrylic paints, before covering the top with white chalk
Finally, I sculpted a butter alien with foam clay and sealed it to the top of the waffle with water clear resin mixed wit a yellow pigment.
For the alien drink I used water clear resin mixed with a green pigment, and small acrylic ice cubes, topped with real dead flies, and mounted on a circular LED light.
